Responsibilities
• Provide network operations support and diagnose large-scale networking events • Support and maintain next generation data-center networks • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes • Reduce operational burden by partnering with Technical Operations • Ensure operational readiness for new deployments • Drive standards and compliance across the network • Participate in event management and drive impact mitigation • Improve detection mechanisms and troubleshoot platform issues • Automate networking tasks through scripting and tools • Contribute towards hiring and development of team members
Requirements
• Relevant degree or 5 years experience in network operations • Excellent Ethernet and IP networking knowledge • Background in large scale datacenter network implementations • Experience with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, TCP/IP, and other protocols • Strong analytical skills • Comfortable working in a Linux/Unix environment • Software development/scripting skills, particularly Python or shell • Ability to sit for 8-hour shifts and work flexible hours • Experience resolving customer problems under pressure • Ability to mentor and coach junior engineers • Ability to define and influence strategy within and outside the team
