Job Description - Programme Assistant

Our Public Sector client is looking for a Programme Assistant to join their team. Ideally someone with strong admin experience in a busy office environment - 12 month contract

This is a 12 month contract with the option to work on a hybrid basis

Responsibilities:

  • Support programme operations and IT project development administrative activities.
  • Manage, develop and maintain internal database systems including purchase order commitments.
  • Support service requests among client organisations.
  • Coordinate administration of financial activities and reporting requirements.
  • Manage team databases and co-ordinate programme files including SharePoint management.
  • Support website updates for the Department.
  • Provide support to a wide range and variety of events delivered including large scale mail-outs.
  • Coordinate support emails and contact points with customers and liaise with other programmes, within and outside the Department, as required to provide required support.
  • Supporting other programme areas as required.
  • Assist with ad-hoc project requirements of the Department.
  • Undertake any other duties/projects as may be required from time to time.

Requirements:

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • Third level qualification or similar in a business, science, IT, or related area.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience of working in an administrative role, including a customer/stakeholder service office environment.
  • Well-developed IT skills including MS Office.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong team player with ability to foster a positive working relationship with colleagues and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of procurement processes.
  • Experience in event planning and management an advantage.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint.
  • Project management knowledge with ability to achieve key deadlines.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
