Avista in partnership with the HSE are lead agency of East Limerick Children Services, a Children’s Disability Network Team in Limerick. We are looking for candidates who are committed to supporting children with complex disability needs and their families, in a family and person centred, community based, socially inclusive manner in accordance with our core values and ethos and underpinned by quality, best practice and research.
As a Basic Grade Psychologist, you will join the 0-18 children’s disability network team and be engaged in practice routed in a family centred practice approach. You will be working within a highly motivated team and contribute to collaborative working with children and families and the team. You will provide services in line with interdisciplinary approaches in relation to interventions and assessments. ELCS CDNT is operated based on principles of Progressing Disability Services within Ireland.

• An appropriate post-graduate professional qualification recognised by professional body for psychologists in Ireland - Essential
• Their qualifications validated by the P.S.I. or other relevant professional body, with proof of validation submitted with the application, if the applicant qualified outside the Republic of Ireland -Essential
• Training and experience of administering assessment tools including ADI-R and/or DISCO; ADOS/BOSA - Essential
• Full Clean Driving licence - Essential
Applicants should also have the following
• Meet the Psychological Society of Ireland and Dept. of Health and Children guidelines for employment as a Staff Grade Psychologist in the Health Services.
• Have an interest and experience in working with children presenting with complex disability needs (with or without a diagnosis of autism).
• Have excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork and effective caseload management skills together with the ability to work on their own initiative.
• Have a full clean driving license and use of a car.
• Applicants should possess Level 1 behavioural competencies of Avista competency framework as set out in the job description
