Team Leader – Permanent Full Time

Applications are invited for the position of Team Leader in Value Centre Listowel on a permanent full-time basis.

Purpose of the Role

The successful candidate will provide support to the Cash & Carry Management Team to ensure the Value Centre operates in a professional, compliant and profitable manner.

Key responsibilities include

• Providing support in the absence of the Cash & Carry Manager/Assistant Manager, and to carry out any duties as required (including key holding responsibilities)
• Communicate effectively with customers & staff ensuring queries are resolved efficiently & effectively
• The supervision, mentoring and training of new & existing staff
• Assisting and growing customer sales
• Attention to detail in all aspects – ensuring accurate, professional and speedy processing of customers’ orders.
• Ensuring compliance with the Wholesale Standards Programme
• Working in conjunction with Management in relation to effective replenishment and stock control in line with company procedures, whilst also ensuring stock availability to meet customer needs
• Contributing to the effective management and reduction of wastage within the branch
• Working in conjunction with Cash & Carry Management to ensure the branch is prepared for Quarter End activities
• Ensuring security of Cash & Carry is maintained, protecting employees and stock
• Ensuring the effective supervision of employees in the Value Centre, as directed
• Contribute to the operation of the branch in a customer focused/friendly manner
• Minimising expenditure and, where appropriate, assist with the management of overheads
• To undertake any other activities as required in line with operational demands

The successful candidate will

• Be a highly motivated self-starter
• Have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with customers and suppliers in a professional manner
• Previous experience in supervisory/management position
• Experience in warehouse management stock control
• Have experience of the licensed and/or grocery, catering trade
• Have the ability to contribute to the management of day-to-day floor operation of the Cash & Carry, including staff, stock control, deliveries & merchandising
• Be flexible with start / finish times and ensure operational demands are facilitated
• Have some understanding of HACCP
