Project Manager (Construction)

Our client, one of Ireland's award-winning building and civil engineering contractor, is expanding into new markets and business sectors. That’s why they are seeking a an experienced and talented Project Manager to join their high performing team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be accountable for the safe delivery of allocated projects to the client’s specification, ensuring that project objectives, agreed timescales, and budgets are delivered.
• Apply the project management processes set out by the client throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop project plans and schedules and execute plans to achieve agreed outcomes.
• Meet goals in the areas of timely delivery, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Manage complete day to day life cycle of a project from initial stages through to hand-over.
• Achieve a ‘right first time’ philosophy throughout the project life cycle.
• Support the Contracts Manager and Commercial Director to ensure that it is accurately cost forecasted.
• Co-ordinate project activities with company Quality Systems, Standard Quality Procedures and Specifications.
• Manage and monitor resources to ensure they are available across disciplines to deliver the project.
• Work with clients and stakeholders to establish effective collaborative relationships, supporting effective delivery, performance measurement and management of change.
• Provide accurate project performance data to senior managers and company directors on a periodic basis.
• Ensure proactive risk management is adhered to ensuring periodic review and action with the project team.
• Manage client reporting including project reports, programme updates, KPI data, performance, etc
• Manage the project EHS requirements including RAMS.
• Conduct lessons learnt and disseminate to the wider organisation to ensure feedback is incorporated .
• Proactively identify and follow up on opportunities to develop new business.
• Detailed understanding of CDM regulations (2015) and assessment of requirements as applicable to the project.
• Comply to the requirements of HSQE policies and in accordance with Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
• Actively support & encourage the client’s HSQE principles across projects.
• Manage the delivery of the considerate constructor’s scheme requirements.
• Audit site management systems to ensure compliance with company requirements.
• Ensure appropriate site image is maintained to encourage repeat business.
• Support the strategy for the closure of defects and obtain certificate of Making Good Defects within targets set.
• Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.
• Obtain all necessary internal permits.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Degree / Higher Diploma qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years post-qualification experience with tier one contractors.
• Experience in large scale, high head count sites.
• Excellent working knowledge of latest building regulation and certification standards.
