EirGrid is leading the transition of our electricity grid to low carbon renewable energy. To achieve this on behalf of the country, EirGrid must deliver on an ambitious programme of work. This includes critical infrastructure that creates value now but more importantly will create a better and more sustainable future. In 2023, EirGrid opened its Cork’s office to support the Celtic Interconnector and the growing number of projects in the south of Ireland. We now want to grow the team further to support the connection of new customers in the south to help deliver a cleaner energy future.  This expansion starts with an exciting opportunity for a Head of Connection Projects (Southern Region). The successful candidate will have full responsibility for the end to end delivery of all projects required to facilitate new connections to the transmission system. You will have responsibility for building the team in Cork and play a key role in managing our Cork office. Key to success in the role will be the ability to develop and implement the right operating model to enable project delivery. Customer projects include all Demand customers, Generation customers including offshore, and Interconnection.  Your team of project managers will deliver new connections from initial offer process engagement, through project design/construction, to energisation and asset ownership transfer, working closely with the Customers and Connections team to ensure that all contracts placed with customers are deliverable in terms of scope, risk, time and cost.
