Senior Project Manager Buildings & Infrastructure / Built-Environment

We are currently recruiting a number of Senior Project Managers to deliver client side services in the Buildings & Infrastructure Sector . The successful candidate will be accountable for the delivery of major projects and programmes with a focus on the scope, quality, budget, schedule, client management / satisfaction and risk. About The Role:

Technical proficiency, structural engineering experience (ideally, but Architectural or M/E Buildings experience also considered) along with the ability to adapt, innovate and meet changing demands.
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the diverse multi-disciplinary teams, teams motivation and leadership.
Liaise with Clients, third-party Consultants, Contractors and other Stakeholders as appropriate. Co-ordinate, attend meetings and prepare records of these meetings.
Contributes to the development of the overall approach for the programme, its major time frames and the definition of its major deliverables to address and meet the desired goals and outcomes.
Ensures appropriate governance functions for the program in accordance with policies and practices.
Directs the creation and maintenance of the required documentation.
Develops and controls the budget, and manages expenditure within agreed spending plans.
Ensures and balances the availability of the required skills and competencies across project teams within the programme.
Acts as an advisor and builds and maintains relationships across the wider stakeholder community.
Leads the oversight of programme projects’ execution, their progress compared with the plan and the production of agreed deliverables.
Lead a portfolio of projects, ensuring that appropriate project controls are in place within the team having regard to budgets, schedule, quality, risk and activity monitoring.
Deliver on a range of complex, large scale technical and commercial projects.
Monitors and coordinates dependencies across the projects in the program, and resolves conflicts.
Have the capability to deliver programmes and projects of work in accordance with approved programme and project management methodologies such as PMI’s PMP, and CAPM and Axeos Prince 2 and MSP as appropriate About You: Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in project delivery across Building-Infrastructure programmes of significant size and complexity.
Relevant third level qualification in engineering or related discipline.
Chartered Engineer or Chartered Project Professional preferred.
Qualification in project management such as PMP, PRINCE II will be advantageous (not essential).


Key Skills/Attributes:
Have a good knowledge & experience of Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
Demonstrate proven knowledge and experience of working with/to accredited Integrated Management Systems & Standards including quality, environment, health-and-safety, data security, risk, BIM etc.
Have a strong Building/Facility-design engineering technical capability.
Demonstrate a successful track record in project tendering/bidding including bid-planning, submission preparation, commercial fee estimation for multi-disciplinary Building-Infrastructure type projects.
Have a strong knowledge & experience of project feasibility, planning, statutory consents, design, procurement, contract administration & construction-delivery support.
Have the ability to set up ongoing procedures to collect and review information as needed.
Strong knowledge of project and programme management methodologies and industry best practice.
Strong technical experience in delivery of Building-Infrastructure and/or related construction projects.
Proven track record in dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion and ability to achieve results within the set timeframe.
Experience of developing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships with a wide range of key stakeholders and ability to influence the key decision makers.
Strong and demonstrable leadership and management skills including project management, procurement, contract management, financial and change management.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team with excellent people management skills.
Demonstrated leadership ability, proactive development, motivation and engagement of the team.
Capacity to self-motivate.
