Job Overview

The role provides an opportunity to support Claims projects and respond to Claims Department strategic & business as usual initiatives whilst also responding to any change required for mandated regulatory projects.  The successful applicant will be able to quickly build rapport and trust-based relationships and collaborate effectively across training, communications, project management, and business teams. They will be able to lead small Claims Department projects and support the product owner/assistant manager in large projects within the department with clarity, empathy and clear structure to ensure that staff understand the “why,” & feel prepared and excited for the change being introduced.   The candidate should be able to bring a commitment to driving responsible change by living our core FBD values.

Job Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Claims Change Team Assistant Manager, the individual will be responsible, from a Claims Department perspective, to provide support to project and change programmes- taking business lead or other role as appropriate
  • Coordinate & complete project documentation to include change/maintenance evidence and communication for release
  • Capture accurate business requirements by displaying a thorough understanding of the business need and the impact on existing systems and business processes.
  • Perform root cause analysis of system & process issues and work closely with business users in order to identify and translate their needs into requirement specifications.
  • Support the project team through the various stages of project delivery.
  • Resolve conflicts and remove barriers to ensure successful resolution of issues.
  • Support delivery of continuous business process improvements to the Claims department with the objective of increasing operational efficiency.
  • Develop relationships within their business unit & other areas where required by being proactive and displaying a thorough understanding of the business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Champion the use of technology to provide solutions which deliver better outcomes, including identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency in FBD’s Claims operations.
  • Innovation – they will be required to monitor the external environment to identify best practices and the potential opportunities they present for FBD.
  • Support the Claims Change Management relationships with IT, Sales and the Underwriting team by engaging with or take the lead in ensuring that business processes are adapted and ready to absorb changes, and monitor implementation post go live. They will assist with automation of a control environment to ensure Claims process and procedures are executed to deliver Company Strategy & Excellence in Claims Management performance. This will include working with the Claims Governance team to develop mechanisms that track the effectiveness of new projects, changes & controls across the spectrum of claims activities.

Education

Minimum Leaving Certificate or equivalent

Experiences

  • 3 years’ Business Analysis experience working within the Financial Services Sector (General Insurance experience an advantage) or 5+ years Claims experience
  • Experience working within a change or project management & lean six sigma framework is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Customer Excellence & Employee Excellence programmes is desirable.
  • IT experience is desirable but not essential, with specific connection to Systems as we enter into expanding our digital experience & enhancing/introducing a new claims application architecture

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated record in building working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative in order to meet personal and departmental targets.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle complex change and prioritise key activities.
  • To have solution driven and success outcome mind-set.
