As a Field Service Engineer within Electrification Service, you will execute medium-to-high-complexity service work – installation, commissioning, maintenance, upgrades and retrofits – according to work instructions and in accordance with ABB processes, standards and safety guidelines. Reporting to the Installed Base and Training Manager, you will deliver excellent customer service by meeting customers’ needs, while maintaining good relationships with customers.
Your responsibilities
- Perform site installation, testing & commissioning of MV/LV or HV products.
- Perform other field service activities including troubleshooting, repairing, maintenance, replacement applications for MV/LV or HV products.
- Experience in protection relays, medium voltage (MV), low voltage (LV), high voltage (HV), GIS panels, AIS panels, IEC 61850 / Scada / Goose.
- Perform service works according to ABB’s technical, commercial and health & safety standards.
- Identifying potential equipment failures and taking corrective actions, troubleshooting complex equipment failures, and making recommendations to avoid the problem in the future.
- Perform trainings to customer at site and at ABB facilities.
- Prepare the service reports and records that are necessary for the quality of service.
- Prepare the tools and equipment that are related to the jobs on the to-do list.
- Ensure customer satisfaction during / after deliveries.
Your background
- Qualified Electrician with at least 5 years’ experience of Installation & maintenance MV/LV Switchgear.
- Proven leadership skills, with a collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Experience in testing and commissioning of ABB or 3rd party Equipment.
- Good working knowledge of MV Protection relays.
- Strong background in Service & Maintenance.
- Excellent organizational and co-ordination skills with the ability to prioritize and manage peaks in workload.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with ABB employees in a professional manner, both in person and via telephone, and a strong focus on managing customer relationships.
- Excellent IT skills (inc. knowledge of MS Office, MS Excel).
- Clean full driving license.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
