Role Overview:

Our client is the innovative market leader in the uniquely efficient full-service provision of patented high-quality Steel Reinforcement Solutions to major construction projects across the UK and Ireland. Through exceptional international growth and their inspiring company vision they currently have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious growth orientated Sales Development Leader with a strong proven track record of value engineering solutions promotion and business development delivery across the relevant build environment sector.

 

Job Purpose:

As Head of Sales, you will own and deliver profitable sales of our patented high-quality products and services from your assigned region and customer target base. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years new business development and sales management experience consistently achieving above target results focused on key new target clientele such as Main Contractors, Consultant & Design Engineers, Operations Directors and Architects. Ideally, you will have proven experience of value engineering solutions and promoting innovative new products and service solutions to the leading building envelope industry stakeholders. 

 

Present regular CPD and project specific proposals and deliver value driven and educational pitches to key industry stakeholders. Develop dynamic relationships with key clients, potential stakeholders, ensuring awareness of unique product benefits, and value, are known within the market. Engage with team members by sharing product knowledge and market insights so that the collective culture of ‘winning’ is always supported and strengthened. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to work remotely whilst regularly travelling to meet customers and colleagues on site as appropriate.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Contribute to the development of the groupwide sales strategy.
  • Develop plans for achieving market share targets within assigned target customer base and regions.
  • Identify key client decision makers and proactively pitch the benefits of new product solutions on targeted projects.
  • Develop and agree tactical sales plans for each product stream assigned.
  • Work to meet assigned annual sales targets in collaboration with Management
  • Support delivery of the sales strategy by identifying and actioning opportunities to ensure awareness and traction of our products and services.
  • Engage in regular updates providing accurate and insightful updates on progress, sales and customer/market insights.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with strategic customers through partnering closely with them to better understand their business objectives and key project needs whilst always striving to deliver excellence, value and growth across our innovative solutions.
  • Monitor Industry-specific trends and landscapes sharing findings and highlighting opportunities amongst team and management.
  • Effectively develop and communicate Company value proposition through leading CPD presentations and project proposals.
  • Help develop and maintain an effective sales management and reporting framework ensuring clarity and transparency with the Management team.

 

Key Candidate Experience & Competencies:

  • A minimum of 8 years relevant new business development experience preferably includes time in the reinforced steel solutions market.
  • Built environment industry experience with relevant qualified stakeholder network is essential.
  • Relevant Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or Engineering a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills.
  • Confidence creating and delivering regular technical CPDs to Engineers & Architects etc. 
  • First-class commercial acumen, negotiation, and customer-first mindset.
  • Dynamic and passionate self-starter with a focused and resilient target delivery mindset.
  • Excellent relationship management and collaboration skills and a real team-first approach.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic planning, data analysis and organisational skills.
  • Proficient IT applications and reporting expertise.
