Job Description - Management Accountant

Campion Insurance with PIB group in Ireland has office's in 30 locations nationwide and a staff force of over 400 employees.

Campion Insurance is currently seeking to recruit a management accountant to join its growing Finance team based in our Dublin office. The successful candidate will be joining a supportive and inspiring team of professionals. The finance team comprises of 11 based in Dublin responsible for core finance activities such as accounts payable, management accounts, payroll, etc. along with a further 8 in the client accounts team based in Urlingford.

Reports To: The position will report directly to the G/L Manager.

Key Outputs & Responsibilities

The Management Accountant supports the G/L Manager in the effective management, co-ordination and delivery of an effective and efficient finance function. Responsibilities include;

- Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts for submission to CFO and Group level. 

- Respond to group reporting queries in a timely manner.

- Maintaining and reconciling the company trial balance.

- Assist with the external audit including preparation of audit schedules / supporting documentation and dealing with any queries.

- Assist with the preparation of the annual budget including the monitoring of actuals vs budget and explaining the key variances.

- Assist in manging the accounts payable function with responsibility for supervising the invoice posting and ensuring accuracy of coding. Identify opportunities for cost reductions by completing periodic supplier reviews as necessary.

- Assist with maintaining the cash flow forecast and responsibility for ensuring accuracy of bank reconciliations.

- Support the efficient running of both the finance department and the company by identifying possible process improvements and either assisting or leading projects to help drive efficiencies.

The candidate should have;

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an industry based finance role with a broad knowledge of accounts preparation, tax and audit. 

- Strong end user computing skills in particular MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint and be able to demonstrate through courses or work experience the aptitude to upskill with new systems.

The candidate should be;

- Enthusiastic and personable.

- Highly motivated with a desire to upskill.

- Highly organised and ability to prioritise.

- Be able to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

- Good communication skills and a team player. Shares information and knowledge to help the team meet its objectives.

- Strong attention to detail and a self-starter who can work competently without the need for supervision.

- Understands complex issues quickly and can accurately evaluate data to deliver timely and well- grounded decisions on important issues.

The successful candidate will receive;

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with the right experience and the motivation to work with a busy finance department and gain valuable experience and support towards further qualifications. This is a permanent position and the company are offering the following;

Salary €60,000 - €70,000 depending on experience.

Bonus 10% of basic salary depending on achieving set objectives.

PHI / DIS Income protection of 75% of basic salary and 4 times death in service.

Training We offer the opportunity for the successful candidate to upskill in a wide variety of areas with company paid courses such as Power BI, Lean Six Sigma, QFA etc.

Location Hybrid - This role will be based in our Dublin office.
