Job Description - MES Engineer

NeoDyne is a leading Irish and UK Industrial Automation and Electrical Engineering company headquartered in Cork, Ireland and Chesterfield, UK. Our B2B customer base extends to over 300 companies with turnover predominantly from large multinationals in high-end food and beverage manufacturing, pharma, and energy sectors. The company is 25 years old and employs over 170 talented automation, electrical and IT/OT engineers across 5 offices.

We are currently recruiting experienced Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Engineers to lead development and system integration activities at the Cork and Chesterfield offices.

As an endorsed AVEVA system integrator, we are seeking candidates with 3 or more years' experience in AVEVA products, including AVEVA MES, System Platform, InTouch, Batch Management, Historian, or Skelta BPM.

Responsibilities/ Duties

  • Assuming lead MES technical project role, including leading the build, configuration, validation, and delivery of cutting-edge MES systems.
  • Liaising with our customers to gather and translate project and process improvement requirements into functional design and detailed design documentation.
  • Database design and development in Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
  • UX design and development in Angular, C#, Javascript, and ASP.Net Core.
  • Production reporting design and development in AVEVA Historian and AVEVA PI System.
  • Providing technical and automation operational support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation and Facilities departments.
  • Co-ordinating and supporting project commissioning activities.
  • Enforcing technical and project execution best practices.
  • Mentoring and training of junior engineers.
  • Working closely with customers to identify areas for process improvement through automation and data analytics technology.
  • Researching new technologies and trends in Industrial Automation.

Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience

  • Experienced MES engineer with 3 or more years' experience in AVEVA (Wonderware) products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Computer Science / Information Systems or related field.
  • Database design and development experience in Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle.
  • UX design and development experience in Angular, C#, Javascript and/or ASP.Net Core.
  • Web programming experience; including JavaScript, CSS, JSON, JQuery, Web API, HTML5 and/or REST API.
  • Report Writing experience in AVEVA Historian, AVEVA PI System or similar.
  • PLC Programming/HMI/SCADA experience desirable: Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, etc.
  • Experience working with validated Automation systems in the Food and Beverage or Pharma manufacturing environment.
