Technical Sales Engineer

Our client is an Irish owned leading supplier of Engineering Components & Process Equipment into the pharmaceutical, bio-technology, life sciences, food and beverage, manufacturing and other highly regulated industry sectors. They are urgently seeking to employ a Technical Sales Engineer to join their high performing external sales team focusing on PUMPS. The position would be aimed at supporting field activities of the engineering team, conducting technical assessments, selecting and specifying appropriate valves for applications, installations and projects.

Requirements:

• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical engineering, valve and pump application engineering concepts.
• Extensive knowledge of pump and/or valve fundamentals, pump and/or valve operations, pump and/or valve components, and pump and/or valve types.
• Well versed in installation, servicing, and commissioning of internal parts and components
• Hands on experience in pump and/or valve sales, seals, mechanics, and engineering.
• Possess excellent sales, communication, and customer service skills.
• Result oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Providing assistance and coordination to customers from quote to order placement.
• Experience in RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and solutions
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to size pumps and/or valves from system schematics and site walk downs.
• Materials selection for pumps and piping systems to suit the applications
• Completed relevant Mechanical engineering qualification or suitable relevant experience within the specific field of valve and/or pump overhaul / repair / certification
• Minimum of 5 years industry experience

Accountabilities:

• Conduct technical assessments and analysis of valves, pumps and related systems.
• Design, select, and specify appropriate valves and pumps for various applications and industries.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise and support.
• Perform valve sizing calculations and hydraulic analysis.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Conduct valve and pump testing, performance evaluations, and troubleshooting.
• Provide technical guidance and support to sales and procurement teams.
• Conduct on-site inspections, installations, and commissioning of valves and pumps.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer specifications.
• Monitor and evaluate equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance requirements.
• Participate in project meetings, providing technical insights and recommendations.
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in valve and pump engineering.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and proposals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment performance and system integration.
• Provide technical support and training to clients, colleagues, and end-users.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to assess performance and identify improvement opportunities.(Rarely)
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of related activities and projects.
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
• Assist in the development and implementation of valve and pump engineering standards and best practices.
• Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and knowledge enhancement in valve and pump engineering.
