My Dublin based client is recruiting for an Application Support Specialist to join the team. This role is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover Maternity Leave with a view to go longer. This role offers a hybrid working model. The candidate will be responsible for 2 nd line production support, as well as systems & business analysis and testing support for all external applications within the company.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage incidents & change requests raised for all the external systems, including: triage, communication, & escalation.
- Analyse incidents raised, conduct root cause analysis, and define possible solutions.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams & 3rd party suppliers on incident solutions.
- Testing, planning, & implementing code releases and scripts for data fixes.
- Support users across multiple regions, time zones & cultures.
- Run and support daily morning batches & end-of-day transaction processing on a rota basis.
- Gather, document, and obtain sign-off on requirements for reports, customer documentation, and service requests.
- Collaborate with business teams on the diagnosis and triage of system issues.
- Production Support
- You will learn all systems supported by reviewing all existing documentation & getting up to speed on how to use all systems.
- Triage technical application & system issues affecting the production environment, raised on the IT Helpdesk or by the internal IT team.
- You will conduct an analysis to identify the cause and to determine the most appropriate solution.
- You will determine if the issue needs to be escalated internally or externally with 3rd party providers.
- You will ensure that the information and data relating to the issue and the status of the resolution is kept fully up to date on the IT Helpdesk.
- You will ensure appropriate quality & level of service at all times, according to documented service level
- Systems & Business Analysis
- You will analyse the underlying issues arising from investigations into requirements & problems & identifies available options for
- You will document all requirements gathering using the required standards, methods, & tools from the Lifecycle Methodology
- System/Regression Testing
- You will carry out some testing activities for production support & small initiatives to include planning of system & regression testing, execution, & documentation.
- You will produces re-usable test scripts & procedures to test new & amended software to be executed. Produce regression test plans to test the effect of the new & changed software on existing systems.
- Execution of all testing as
- You will document test failures & successes compared with pre-defined criteria.
- Provide training and support to UAT testing teams.
- Quality of delivered software or
- Quality of procedures and test plans
- On time delivery of validated software into production environments
- User Training and Support
- You will provide support for User training for all application changes being managed by the team.
- You will provide appropriate user documentation for application
- You will provide 1st & 2nd level user support for all applications being managed by the team.
Experience Required
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar Application Support role
- Experience working on an IT helpdesk
- Knowledge of business or system analysis
- Strong experience in SQL and data migration.
- Experience in working with Windows servers
- Experience working in Financial Services would be highly desirable
