Operations Director- Luxury Hotel- Dublin City

Excel Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced and forward thinking Operations Director at one of Ireland's top Luxury 5 Star Hotel properties. This role will be alongside the General Manager in ensuring that all areas within the hotel are running smoothly and that the presentation of the hotel is to the highest standards at all times. The Operations Director will lead in operational excellence for the Rooms Division and Food & Beverage Departments.

Responsibilities of the Operations Director Job include:

• Maintain a visible presence throughout the property and be the primary point of contact, leading by example.
• Personally greet and interact with as many customers as possible with the concept of creating a personalised service environment.
• Carry out a check on each department so that you are up to date on their current priorities for the day.
• Ensure that staffing is adequate in all areas.
• Spot check a selection of guest bedrooms on a daily basis to ensure that standards are being maintained.
• Ensure that all checklists and reports are completed by the relevant person before the end of the shift.
• Participate in the preparation of the hotel's annual budget and the setting of departmental revenue and performance goals.
• Communicate the departmental goals to the team, creating action plans to support the successful achievement of these.
• Monitor performance against the established goals and take corrective action where necessary to ensure successful completion.
• Design, procure and deliver operational projects in a timely manner, within set budgets with maximum return on investment.
• Assist with compiling periodic reports as required by Management.
• Assisting with accurate forecasting across all aspects of the business.

Requirements for the Operations Director Job include:

• Previous experience at Operations level within 5 Star Hotels
• Knowledge and understanding of one or more of the following key pillars of sustainability ie environment, sustainable products, people, community
• Demonstrate a keen and well-informed interest in the topics surrounding sustainability
• Experience in the co-ordination of cross functional teams.
• Strategic/ business planning or project management skills.
• Strong influencing and relationship management abilities.
• Analysis and reporting of data and metrics to internal and external stakeholders.
• Creative thinking - critically tailoring your cutting-edge ideas to suit the company needs
• Strong oral and written communicator, with the ability to interact with all levels in the Hotel and tailor approach accordingly
