Job Description - Human Resources Officer

The Hardiman, a Choice Hotel Group hotel, is currently welcoming applications for a Human Resources Officer to join the team. Standing proudly on the famous Eyre Square since 1852, The Hardiman offers generous hospitality with a familiar, easy charm that makes guests feel right at home. This role offers exposure to the full spectrum of HR services and supports in a fast-paced environment and will suit an ambitious HR professional looking to take on a lead role. The role demands delivery of a high quality efficient HR services in line with company policies & procedures and Irish employment law. As the role will involve interaction with internal and external customers, the ideal candidate will have experience of working within HR and/or hotels and of working in a confidential and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • Delivery of a high quality efficient HR service to a the wider hotel teams on a vast range of policies and procedures.
  • Prioritise work and ensure commitments are met on time in line with deadlines, goals & objectives.
  • Liaise and communicate with customers in all areas of the HR function.
  • Dealing with and ensuring confidentiality at all times with HR correspondence and information.
  • Answering HR queries to employees and managers with regard to contract management, absence/leave, compliance with HR policy, relevant legislation.
  • Identify opportunities for continual improvement in our service delivery and to increase stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Administering the employee lifecycle ; advertising, screening, reference checks, preparation of employee contracts, processing contract review forms, exit interviews.
  • Administering and being trained on the deliver of core HR functions; Recruitment and Selection, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Engagement, Training, Performance Management, Health & Safety.

Essential Requirements:

  • A 3rd level qualification in Human Resources or related discipline.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, creative problem solving skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Experience of working in a busy environment and working to tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent organisational skills/time management
  • Attention to detail and excellent written communication skills.
  • A flexible approach to work and openness to assisting the operation from time to time.
  • Experience in a wide variety of office applications/ HR software packages.
