CEO
Our client, a large community credit union in South Dublin, is seeking to recruit a Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
This is an excellent opportunity to continue to lead the further development of one of the largest community-based credit unions in Ireland, with assets of c.€300 million and 70 employees, providing for the financial needs of its members in a co-operative and professional manner.
The Role
The CEO is responsible for the ongoing successful delivery of financial and operational goals, and meeting the credit union’s regulatory requirements through the senior management team. As such, the CEO will provide leadership and oversight of the key functions including lending, member service operations, finance, IT and digital transformation, marketing and business development, risk, compliance, and human resources, among others.
The CEO will have overall responsibility for all aspects of internal and external audits, controls and practices, and reporting to the Central Bank.
The CEO will work closely with the wider management team and engage and communicate with the staff team regularly to foster the member focused ethos of the credit union and maintain strong buy-in and engagement with the credit union.
The CEO, with the Board, will continue the development of the credit union through future focused strategic developments, and lead the delivery of the ambitious and ongoing strategic plan for the credit union.
The CEO will foster positive relationships with the Board and Committees, ensure alignment between the Board and management on the strategic plans, operational delivery, and regulatory requirements.
The Credit Union
The credit union is of one of the largest community-based credit unions in Ireland, based in South Dublin, with assets of c.€300 million and 70 employees, operating across 8 branches and offering member services through a multi-channel approach. The credit union has invested heavily in technology to support the changing behaviour and needs of members.

This is a PCF-approved role.
Reporting
The CEO reports to the Board of Directors through the Chairperson.
The Person
The ideal person will have an established and proven track-record of success preferably within the financial services, banking, fintech, or credit union sectors. They will have had a journey to senior management and a breadth and diversity of experience to be able to continue to lead the credit union as the CEO and continue its success into the future.
The ideal person will have experience in many of the following areas:- senior level management, lending, operations management, IT, financial management, risk and compliance, business development, reporting to a Board of Directors, reporting to the Central Bank of Ireland, financial services business model development, developing financial products and services/product development, IT/digital transformation, strategy development, project management, and change management in the financial services sector.
Familiarity with a not-for-profit organisation is desirable but not essential, but a strong member service ethos is essential.
The ideal person will be able to demonstrate their strong experience and skills to manage the diverse and varied range of responsibilities of the role of CEO of one of the largest community credit unions in Ireland.

The ideal person will be able to successfully hold the responsibility, accountability and oversight of all areas of the credit union’s activities and operations, and to bring the credit union on its journey with the Board and employees, the regulator and other key stakeholders.

Salary & Benefits
The Credit union will offer generous pay and benefits including salary, pension, and other benefits commensurate with the role and benchmarked with the market. Salary is negotiable, DOE.
Contract & Hours
This is a full-time, permanent contract.
Flexibility in working hours will be essential, as the CEO is required to attend out of normal working hours Board and sub-committee meetings and represent the Credit union at appropriate events.
Location
The role is based in South Dublin. This is an on-site role.
