Location: St James Gate

Purpose of the Role:

This role reports to the Head of Brand Change and Innovation, within beer category. The role is instrumental in Diageo’s journey to become the most innovative, trusted and most respected consumer goods company in the world.

The Liquid Development Specialist, Beer role has multiple responsibilities for:

• Leading the liquid concept development stage of NTW Innovations for beer and brewed products globally.

• Leading the liquid commercialization activities across a wide variety of liquid types, from beer, Low/No-Alc, cider and Cocktails to distilled spirits and formulated products.

• Managing three direct reports on the team

About the Role

• Leads delivery of complex technical projects from pre concept through to post-launch in accordance with the Navigate process and aligned with the Brand Change Standards.

• Seeks to understand consumer insights and develops great liquids on brief, within timeline standards for quality, cost and consumer testing hurdles.

• Provides Supply input and commercial grounding during project development and commercialisation phases, driving resolution of commercialization hurdles that may arise and managing regular project communications to Supply and Demand collaborators, Technical Operations, and the broader Supply community. 

• Builds great relationships with partners both within Diageo’s supply and demand organisations and with suppliers to Diageo.

• Applies strong project management skills to develop and manage project timelines, addresses technical challenges and ensures risk profiles and mitigation plans are developed and completed for each project.

• Effective leadership of a team of including capability development, engagement, and performance management.

• Supports Brand Teams with concepting, storytelling and media work where required.

About you

• You will have proven practical experience in a relevant technical role focused on brewing, and a deep knowledge in liquid manufacturing in the brewed or formulated product area.

• You’ll have Extensive Product / concept development experience with proven delivery in development and/or commercialisation of beverages or food products.

• Ideally you will have a Science Degree or equivalent experience within a specific food science or food/beverage related element.
