We are recruiting for a position of Support Worker with a specific focus on/experience in supporting individuals with autism to work as part of a dynamic team in the Offaly area.

We are looking for an ambitious Support Worker to encourage and motivate individuals to lead a fulfilling life. The role requires energy and enthusiasm to support individuals with autism/ID to engage with employment, to implement their vision of developing a good life, and to maximise their independence as valued adults in their local community. This entails supporting the individuals with accessing higher education, formal learning opportunities, skill building, personal and social development, and health and wellbeing. The candidate must have a passion for promoting self - development, and being active members in the local Community.

Requirements:

· FETAC/QQI level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support/Health Service Skills;

· Skilled and experience with Autism and behaviours of concern.

· Knowledge of HIQA Regulation Standards and New Directions;

· Full current driving licence;

· Experience of supporting adults with autism is highly desirable;

· Good connections in the local community an advantage;

· Ability to use own initiative and plan effectively;

· Excellent organisational, logistical and I.T skills;

· Suitability as outlined in the introduction to the role.

· Experience supporting individual’s with Communication difficulties and supporting them to self-advocate.
