Job Description
JOB TITLE: Supplier Quality Engineer
DEPARTMENT: Quality Department
REPORTING TO: Quality Lead - SQE
DIRECT REPORTS: N/A
OBJECTIVES OF POSITION:
- To ensure the quality and integrity of incoming material for one of our key medical customers thereby maximising yields and minimising production fails and scrap.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and continuously improve system and procedures to assure quality of incoming material
- In collaboration with our end customer and the materials department, utilize a closed loop Supplier Corrective Action Process in conjunction with scorecard reviews to improve supplier performance
- Support for 1 st Article Inspection of material
- Supplier assessment, audits and quality improvement
- Supplier rating and trend reporting
- MRB analysis and follow up
- Departmental Processes & Procedures
Quality:
- Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
Health & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Legislation and Regulations.
MEASUREMENTS:
- Supplier Corrective Actions and their timely closure
- Material related Yield and Scrap
- Material related overall line yields and efficiencies
PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL:
- Minimum NFQ Level 7 Degree/ Diploma in a Science or Engineering Field
- 2/3 Years minimum experience in a similar ‘supplier quality engineering’ role in the electronic manufacturing industry
- Sound understanding and effective utilization of problem solving techniques
- Proficient in the use of MS word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Good communication and influencing skills
- Flexibility to Travel
DESIRABLE:
- Experience in working within a Medical Device Manufacturing Environment
- Ability to speak German
- Six sigma Green or Black Belt certified
- Experience in medium to high volume electronic production
- Experience in New Product Introduction Processes.
