Role
An opportunity has arisen for a recently qualified accountant to join the Canouan Development Corporation Finance team. The Dublin based team is responsible for the day-to-day management of a luxury hospitality business and property development project. This role will initially focus on the Record to Report Cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Management Accounts
Production of monthly management accounts pack for review, and prepare commentary on variances, and drill into issues
Cost analysis - ensure there is no leakage from the P&L (or cashflow)
Maintain and make sure the finance KPIs are being given the right air time
Monthly Performance Reviews – partner with Heads of Departments to define actions and ultimately drive accountability with the operations team
Statutory Accounts
Ensure that the accounts produced meet all regulatory, compliance and audit responsibilities
Assisting to manage year end processes including preparation for Audit and acting as a key contact for the External Audit team
Maintain up to date understanding of accounting, reporting and auditing standards
Financial Planning & Analysis:
Co-ordinate financial planning and budgeting. Build and maintain model, and partner with of Heads of Departments
Oversee budget forecasting and cash flow management
Monitoring capital projects and asset register
Collaborate closely with colleagues across the business to understand business needs, gain insights, and deliver commercially focused financial and analytical support as required
Opportunity to be involved in Finance automation projects and Other ad-hoc Finance projects
Control
Balance sheet reconciliations required to maintain a strong internal control environment
Ongoing review of all processes with a view to making improvements through automation
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications
You are skilled at using in-depth analysis to get to the bottom of complex issues

You have the willingness to challenge the status quo and focus on continuous improvement

You are results oriented with the ability to focus on the details and complete day to day work to a high standard while simultaneously identifying areas for re-engineering
Communicate well with Senior Management
Strong excel and analytical skills; SAP and or G-Suite experience an advantage
Project management skills an advantage but not a prerequisite
Undergraduate/Postgraduate with a 1.1 or 2.1 degree
450+ CAO points at Leaving Certificate (or equivalent)
You must be eligible to work in Ireland
