Position Title: Medical Devices, Analytics Strategy & Capability Development Leader

Functional Area: Medical Devices, Plan Strategy & Capabilities

Reports To: Medical Devices, E2E and NPI Plan Global Process Lead

Scope & Complexity BU’s: ETH, CSS, DPS

Geographical Reach: Global

Financial Responsibility: Admin budget, Project budget, CIP

Position Overview

The Medical Device Analytics & Shared Service Leader is responsible to develop and execute a multi-year strategy to deploy reporting & analytics / data connectivity capabilities that meet the needs of the Regions / Franchises by identifying appropriate internal and external best practices. This strategy will ensure continuity in the current processes and improvement of its maturity via comprehensive deployment of the blueprinted standards and processes.

The leader will take responsibility to form one integrated organization, co-located at the core planning locations. The leader will work closely aligned with the Plan Strategy and Capabilities Leaders, the Digital team and the Global Franchise and Regional Planning Leaders to realize full potential of this new organization.

The leader will drive operational efficiencies and initiate transformational projects when needed. He / she will successfully guide the organization through these changes while ensuring effective execution of the current processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive analytics / data connectivity roadmap.
  • Build and develop one integrated, high performing Medical Device R&A team.
  • Establish Governance for review of metrics, initiatives, and strategies for Medical Devices Supply Chain Leadership Team.
  • Oversee benchmarking, evaluation, and implementation of best practices to business reporting / analytics capabilities and data connectivity.
  • Partner with Technology Solutions to develop business solutions that enhance visualization and virtualization capabilities of the Plan Transformation Program metrics and processes.

Capability development:

  • Link to Digital teams, and IT technological teams for proven and emergent capabilities, tools, etc.
  • Application of advanced analytics to complex problems.
  • Development of analytics solutions for deployment by global process leaders.
  • Development of new metrics and analytics capabilities.
  • Ensure adoption of new capabilities by the business partners.
  • Develop and maintain robust reporting, metrics and analytics for the Global Plan function establishing capabilities for early warning of supply interruptions leading to service level misses.
  • Sponsor, support, and deploy new initiatives designed to improve our current capabilities in area of data analytics & connectivity and business intelligence.
  • Ensure alignment on TS architecture for consistency in analysis, investigation, implementation, and best practice sharing.

Operational effectiveness:

  • Own overall planning analytics, ensure a consistent set of tools are utilized to support business decisions. Maintain a robust infrastructure for analytics.
  • Single point of contact for Enterprise, Regions, Franchises, and Functional Leaders for Reporting, Analytics.
  • Flawless execution and publishing of standard reports and dashboards.
  • Provide in depth analysis / insights for decision-making in key business functions.
  • Sustainability and enhancements of current platforms (Infinity / Fidelity), existing business intelligence solutions (Tableau, Power BI), and data models / infrastructure.
  • Streamlining, standardizing and harmonization of the current processes, reports, and platforms.
  • Modification/updates to existing reports and verification of outputs.
  • Publish effective metrics and reports which provide insights to required actions by highlighting deviations, unfavourable trends, and performance (actual results) inconsistent with defined targets and service level commitments.
  • Drive rapid remediation of systemic root cause and system deficiencies when needed.
  • Drive operational efficiencies within his / her area.
  • Lead and develop the global team, including the shared service centre in India.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with preference in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or equivalent/Advanced degree/MBA preferred.
  • PMP, FPX SME, lean / 6S Black Belt or equivalent certifications preferred.
  • APICS certification (CPIM, CFPIM or CIRM) preferred.
  • Other certifications in areas of expertise desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum Eight (8) years of relevant experience required.
  • Minimum Three (3) years of people management & development required.
  • Experience successfully implementing change across multiple organizations with cross functional stakeholders required.
  • Experience managing and working with a multi-regional and multi-functional team in a highly matrix environment is required.
  • Project and Program management experience required.
  • Experience with data platforms (CDL, EDG / EDL, Azure, SAP HANA, Alteryx, Qlik, Tableau) is required.
  • Professional experience in Plan with a strong understanding of E2E processes.
  • Experience working in the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device or Consumer Products industry.

  • Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of best practices and benchmarks.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects, multiple priorities, and timelines.
  • Big Picture/Attention to Detail – align strategic and tactical goals.
  • Pro-active, can-do attitude. Self-starter with the ability to forge collaboration across all levels within the enterprise.
  • High level of personal initiative, ability to function autonomously.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Project, and Access.
  • Results Orientation/Sense of Urgency – ability to drive to tight timelines.

Location of Role: Cork, Ireland, or Brussels Belgium

Travel Requirements: this position may require an average 20% of travel.
