Job Description - Building Materials Supervisor

Building Materials Supervisor - Thomas Street, Dublin 8

Part of Grafton Group Plc, Chadwicks Group is the market leader in the builder’s merchanting industry in the Republic of Ireland. The core business is through the traditional Builders Merchants division. Main brands include Chadwicks, Cork Builders Providers, Davies & Telfords.In addition, and through organic growth and acquisitions the Group have established a range of brands which are close to the core but offer a uniquely different range of products.These include Heitons Steel, Panelling Centre, Morgans Timber, Proline, Sitetech and Rooney's Hardware.

Principle Objective

As Building Materials Supervisor you will manage all aspects of the Building Materials operation in your branch. Key to the role is driving sales of all products, developing new business and servicing our existing customer base while also ensuring the smooth running of daily operations.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum 3-4 years' experience working within the Building Materials Industry
  • Strong commercial and strategic acumen
  • Ability to reach and exceed sales targets
  • Health and Safety compliance experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the Building Materials department, buying / stock levels / margins
  • Achieve sales and margin targets
  • Health & Safety Awareness - ensure that Company Health & Safety Regulations are strictly adhered to
  • Building Materials department development
  • Building customer relationships
  • Maintain a high customer service standard ensuring all customers are dealt with in an efficient and effective manner
  • Be responsible for all equipment and carry out regular stock checks
  • Responsible for the re-order of selected product lines and also ensuring that stock levels of selected product lines within the department are maintained at optimum levels
  • Ability to manage and anticipate change
  • Ensure a tidy working environment at all times in line with health and safety guidelines
  • Actively safeguard against theft of company goods or property by being security conscious at all times
  • Ensure all company policies are implemented accordingly
