Job Title: Group Marketing Manager

Location: Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone

Schedule: Full Time

Reports to: Group Sales Director

SCOPE OF ROLE

The perfect role for a marketing "all-rounder" who thrives working with data and is keen to work alongside a team of high performing marketing specialists. An outstanding opportunity to join the well-respected & family owned Hodson Bay Group. You will work with four 4* properties spanning distinct destinations such as the Wild Atlantic Way, the Hidden Heartlands & Ireland's Ancient East.

The role of Marketing Manager forms part of the group marketing team that generates & distributes property level communications to guests, the broader audience and our colleagues on behalf of the properties that make up the Hodson Bay Group. Our brand messaging is communicated via digital & social media channels and is complimented by traditional channels such as print & radio.

The Marketing Manager is responsible for helping to create marketing plans & campaigns that improve brand awareness & consumer preference for the Hodson Bay Group. The Marketing Manager liaises with colleagues across many departments within the business such as Marketing, Sales, Reservations, F&B, Spa's etc. to build relationship and to help plan activity across the group. The role will be responsible for social media analysis, the creation & execution of traditional marketing activity and representation at group meetings which will lead to the coordination of different work streams to the wider Marketing team.

The key objectives & measurements of success for this role are determined by the implementation and execution through marketing activities which are to be outlined in the annual Marketing Plan of the group revenue strategies alongside our brand awareness & growth in social media engagement. The Marketing Manager should be capable & highly efficient in responding to any situation in relation to Sales, Marketing & PR where the Group or any of its individual properties are represented.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Degree qualification in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business, or similar.

Experienced in marketing, digital, social media or related professional area.

Clear understanding & experience in online Marketing through digital, social channels.

Experience in daily management of social media channels essential.

Experience from within hospitality would be preferable.

Skilled in persuasive selling & negotiation.

Fluent English required & in addition superior creative writing would be preferred.

Experienced in writing Marketing Plans.

Excellent communicator and influencer.

Commercially astute & able to make considered decisions.

Excellent presenter with energy, passion & ability to tell compelling stories.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

MARKETING COORDINATION

Creation & execution of annual Marketing Plan, in line with budget.

Plan workload on behalf of the team ensuring that tasks are completed on time & in full.

Work cross-departmentally to drive agenda at a property & group level.

Rollout marketing activities through frequent communication & training where relevant.

Manage key stakeholders; grow network both locally & nationally.

Develop relationships with leaders across the business to develop & execute property campaigns.

Ensure marketing across all channels is aligned to our brand voice & adheres to guidelines.

Monitor the competitive set across channels, ensuring that we remain competitive & relevant.

Schedule management for direct marketing through e-zines & mail shots in conjunction with colleagues in Digital & Brand Marketing

Manage the database for all marketing activities across the multiple outlets within each property & ensure relevant materials are sent out.

REPORTING, ANALYSIS & INSIGHT

A strong commercial acumen and passion for data analysis is essential.

Proven track record of driving impactful results through interrogating data & implementing strategic change.

Coordinate the reporting of marketing activity back to the group. Performance to be measured, analysed & presented back with clear recommendations.

Social Media analysis is key & understanding the metrics in this area is essential for success.

Ability to offer support & make strategic recommendations based on data across the marketing function.

Ability to tell a story - what is the data telling us? The "so what?"

OTHER

Management of events as required, such as launch events, corporate appreciation evenings, trade shows etc. Marketing Manager is responsible for the scheduling & planning of such events for the group.

Tracking of overall budget spend via the pre-existing database. Competence in raising PO's and logging invoice details essential.
