Job Title : Head of Media Solutions, The Irish Times

Job Purpose:
As the Head of Media Solutions at The Irish Times, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the budget and sales plan for our Media Solutions team. You will support the development and execution of our Business-to-Business (B2B) strategy in alignment with the broader objectives of the Irish Times Group. Your responsibilities will include managing the day-to-day operations of the department, nurturing the growth and development of our Media Solutions team, and fostering collaborative relationships across various functions within the Irish Times Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of The Irish Times Media Solutions budget and ensure its effective management and delivery.
- Set ambitious targets for different areas and drive the performance of our sales teams.
- Implement a cohesive work structure and reporting lines that are aligned with the overarching strategy of The Irish Times Group.
- Foster collaboration across different functions within The Irish Times Group to support the achievement of our collective goals.
- Identify and capitalise on opportunities to develop new revenue streams and target key verticals.
- Stay abreast of market and media trends, sharing insights and leveraging them to continuously enhance our offerings.
- Drive performance across all platforms and cultivate partnerships that maximise cross-platform opportunities.
- Oversee the delivery of accurate and insightful reporting and forecasting to inform decision-making.
- Develop and motivate the Media Solutions team, overseeing objective setting & performance.
- Oversee the smooth day-to-day operations of the department, optimising efficiency and effectiveness.
- Serve as a key representative of The Irish Times in the marketplace, maintaining and nurturing relationships with key contacts.
- Collaborate with the Head of Marketing to execute the B2B Marketing and trade communications plan effectively.
- Ensure all Irish Times Media Solutions activities & operations adhere to governance requirements, providing structures & reports to meet those requirements.
- Lead the team with comprehensive knowledge of our print and digital products, ensuring they are delivered to our core audiences with excellence.
- Any other duties as required by Group Media Solutions Director.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualification / Relevant Experience in Business, Marketing, Media, or related field.
- Proven experience in a senior sales or media solutions role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and achieve targets.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with media planning, advertising, and digital marketing trends.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
