Job Description - International Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced International Payroll Specialist to join our team. The International Payroll Specialist will be responsible for preparing payroll for our offices in Ireland and Canada ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. The payroll specialist will be involved with the processing of monthly payroll for Ireland and biweekly payroll for Canada. This individual will collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and other departments to operate and maintain seamless payroll operations.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of end-to-end payroll in Ireland and Canada. Payroll in Ireland is processed monthly through an external payroll provider and payroll in Canada is processed biweekly in house on the UKG payroll system.
  • Prepare and submit monthly pension/401k files to our pension provider.
  • Continuously review existing payroll procedures and provide suggested improvements where required.
  • Generate payroll reports for management review and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish Revenue and Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA).
  • Keep up to date with payroll related regulatory changes that may impact the business.
  • Ensure payroll is controlled tightly to adhere with SOX, GDPR and internal compliance procedures.
  • Assist in year-end payroll activities, such as T4 processing and reporting.
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees and internal/external business partners.
  • Prepare and provide any relevant audit back up as requested.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems and reports.
Qualifications
  • Payroll Technician qualification (IPASS qualification) or similar.
  • Irish and Canadian payroll experience required.3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • UKG experience preferred.In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills.Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in MS excel.
