Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the newly formed Integrated Primary and community care academy (IPCCA) as a Lead Nurse for the IPCCA. The IPCCA will support the introduction of a comprehensive multi professional education and training framework for primary and community care in Wales.
The post holder will lead on the nursing programme within the IPCCA and will provide professional and managerial support to ensure the provision of healthcare to the Health Board's population, managing, developing and directing the nursing and clinical workforce within the team and ensuring safe, clinically effective, high-quality care is delivered to patients by competent professionals.
The post will have a specific focus on the professional development of Nursing staff who work in primary and community care including nursing staff who work within the independent sector.
The post will also lead on specific projects as directed by the Clinical Lead to include education and professional development whilst providing operational and strategic support across a range of issues
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the development of Nursing element of the IPCCA strategy for developing education, training and development and to develop and implement an annual training plan.
To manage the provision of education, training and development of Nursing staff within Primary and community Care; and to set up and monitor a training infrastructure.
To provide expert advice to the IPCCA Multi-professional Clinical Lead and Divisional nurse regarding education and training developments including professional regulatory requirements, government policy and funding initiatives in Primary Care
To be responsible for the IPCCA nursing training schemes and programmes including being accountable for ensuring that the course requirements are met and liaising with course directors for any issues and development.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
