Applications are now invited for the position of Accounts Assistant at IMR

The successful applicant will be accounts assistant in a fast growing Research and Technology Organisation under the Enterprise-Ireland and IDA funded Technology Centre programme and two not-for-profit Network Organisations.

The Role:

Reporting to the Finance Director at IMR, the accounts assistant will support all aspects of the busy finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheet, profit and loss statement and analysis.
  • Support accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and production of invoices.
  • Communicate with vendors and customers to resolve any invoicing or payment issues.
  • Provide support with the monthly payroll process.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and assist in the reconciliation of bank statements and accounts ledgers.
  • Report and prepare project budgets and monitor the financial performance against the budget.
  • Assist with tax preparation and filing, including VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding queries.
  • Perform analysis of financial data.
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed, such as filing, handling correspondence.
  • Completion of statistical surveys (CSO, Enterprise Ireland).
  • Assist in the preparation of National and European project reports for weekly operational meetings.
  • Preparation of financial grant claims to various funding bodies.
  • Provision of financial support to the wider business as needed.
  • Maintain accounting controls with full back up available for reporting to management and Auditors
  • Ensure compliance with public procurement guidelines.
  • Preparation of ad hoc financial reports.

Essential Requirements:

  • IATI Qualified or Part-qualified accountant with at least 3 years’ experience.
  • Experience in project grant claims a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to procedures.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills – particularly Excel.
  • Access to a vehicle for visits to our Mullingar site from time to time, is essential.

Location:

IMR offices are situated in Rathcoole Co Dublin and Mullingar Co Westmeath. The role will be based in our Rathcoole office. We offer a hybrid working model. Travel between offices will be required from time to time.

Salary & Benefits:

This position will command a package consisting of:

  • Salary dependent on experience between €43,907 to €47,694
  • An employer pension contribution
  • Hybrid working
  • A 5-week holiday period.
  • Wellbeing days

Please note the salary for this role will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience & qualification levels.
