You will lead a team of application architects as they provide the architectural designs and support to development teams to implement the solutions needed to meet the technical requirements of Solution Architects and the business requirements of Product Managers.

What You’ll Do

• Be an architecture and technical subject matter expert, particularly within the Cloud and software development domains

• Be a proponent for best practices and corporate standards within the company

• Aware that we work in an online real time environment where the platform must be secure, fault tolerant, highly available and automated for the processing of real time transactions

• Lead a team as they design solutions to meet the requirements of the business keeping in mind the target architecture for the overall platform

• Work in an empowering environment where you will lead, motivate and mentor a team of experienced architects, across multiple local and remote locations, who are creating innovative solutions and products and are always focused on improvement

• Mentor and develop more junior people, both developers and architects

Who You Are

• Have knowledge of modern development best practices including CI/CD, microservices, architectural patterns and REST APIs

• Excellent technical skills in Java, Cloud and related technologies

• Excellent leadership skills and experience leading a team of technical personnel

• Experienced working in a demanding, high paced, constantly changing environment with the ability to prioritise for iterative, value based delivery and to adjust as knowledge is gained and priorities change

• Experienced working in an Agile environment working with a wide range of stakeholders including developers, operational engineers, product owners, project managers and senior management

Nice to Have

• Experience working in an Agile environment with multiple development teams

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, prioritisation, decision making and relationship-building skills

• Experience working with stakeholders across and outside the company

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform

• Experience and knowledge of the payments / merchant-acquiring industry
