Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Bar Manager to join our team at Riverside Park Hotel.
The ideal candidate will display strong leadership, an energetic and proactive attitude, and a commitment to delivering service that reflects our values. Working closely with the Bar Manager, you will oversee daily operations, elevate guest satisfaction, support team development, and maintain exceptional service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
Assist in managing all bar operations, including opening/closing procedures, inventory management, and staff scheduling.
Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety standards, consistently doing the right thing for guests, colleagues, and the business.
Maintain accurate stock levels and order supplies as needed.
Oversee maintenance and cleanliness to ensure a safe, well-presented environment.
Demonstrate energy & drive by anticipating operational needs and proactively addressing issues.
Customer Service
Deliver exceptional customer service, handling guest queries and complaints promptly and professionally, with care at the heart of every interaction.
Ensure all guests receive warm, courteous, and efficient service.
Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements, embodying our ethos of always getting better.
Work collaboratively with the team to uphold Riverside Park Hotel’s high customer care standards across the bar.
Team Supervision
Support the recruitment, training, and supervision of the bar team, leading with empathy and Care.
Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills, service quality, and confidence.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment built on mutual respect and integrity.
Promotion and Sales
Assist in developing and implementing promotional activities to increase bar revenue.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging events and themed experiences.
Encourage upselling through confident product knowledge and a guest‑focused approach.
Presentation Standards
Ensure the bar’s presentation always meets the highest standards, reflecting the quality and ethos of Riverside Park Hotel.
Lead by example in maintaining a polished, professional environment.
Customer Care
Provide exemplary care to all guests by addressing queries, requests, and complaints in alignment with hotel policy and our value of Doing the Right Thing.
Hygiene & Safety Standards
Maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards in accordance with agreed procedures.
Review and help update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations.
Appearance Policy
Ensure all team members adhere to company dress and grooming standards, reflecting pride in the workplace.
Legislative Compliance
Maintain in‑depth knowledge of relevant legislation, including Health & Safety Regulations, Licensing Laws, and Consumer Law, ensuring continuous compliance.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience in a similar supervisory or management role within hospitality.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, support, and guide a team.
Excellent communication and customer service skills rooted in Care and professionalism.
Demonstrated Energy & Drive to excel in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong awareness of health and safety and other relevant legislation.
Ability to multitask, prioritise, and problem-solve effectively.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
