Job Description - Assistant Director of Nursing

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care.

We are Hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to a leading Nursing home in Kilkenny Ireland.

Permanent/full time

Key Responsibilities

Ensure that every employee does everything within their power to support the smooth operation of the nursing home and the development of an environment that serves the residents' best interests.

Interact with residents to make sure their medical needs are being satisfied and, where necessary, to address any issues that may arise. Communicate with the district nurse on the medical requirements of the residents.

Report any illness among the residents and, if required, request GP or professional visits.

Ensure that residents' dietary needs are met and that meals are both adequate in quantity and quality requirements are satisfied.

Provide personal care and general nursing duties as needed.

Follow NMBI and Company rules for the administration of prescribed medication and the keeping of the required records.

Encourage and help the Home

Requirements

Must be NMBI Registered

Prior experience in supervision or management

The capacity for successful communication at all levels

A cooperative team member

Sincere desire to collaborate with our clientele

Verification of approval from the Garda Vetting Unit

Experience and training in caring for the elderly

Two years minimum of management or supervisory experience
