Job Description - Assistant Director of Nursing

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care.

We are Hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to a leading Nursing home in Clare, Ireland.

Permanent/full time

Key Responsibilities

Conduct internal audits and ensure timely follow-up on findings and action plans

Lead staff induction programmes and support ongoing training and development initiatives

Encourage and promote innovative practices in care delivery

Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, and HIQA standards

Organise and facilitate regular communication meetings with clinical staff

Build strong relationships with external community agencies and support resident participation in local activities

Collaborate with the Marketing team to enhance the Homeâs profile within the local community

Implement and monitor the Company Health & Safety Policy to protect staff, residents, and visitors

Coordinate regular fire training sessions and maintain effective evacuation procedures

Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the Home

Ensure a preventative maintenance programme is in place and effectively managed

Participate in recruitment, including interviewing and selection of staff

Conduct regular training needs analysis to support staff development

Provide cover for the Director of Nursing when required

Ensure clinical practices within the Home meet all relevant regulations and standards

Requirements

Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 yearsâ management experience within the last 6 years, specifically in the care of older persons

Post-registration qualification in management, healthcare, or a related field

Proven track record in clinical management within a healthcare environment

Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills

Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and deliver results

Ability to work collaboratively and foster a positive team environment

Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to meet the evolving needs of the organisation
