Job Description - Assistant Director of Nursing

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care.

We are hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing of our Nursing Home in Co Kerry

Responsibilities

Support the Person in Charge (PIC) in the day-to-day management of the nursing home.

Assist in managing staffing, rosters, and workforce planning.

Lead, mentor, and supervise the nursing team, promoting clinical excellence and best practices.

Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, regulations, and organisational policies.

Maintain a safe, high-quality, person-centred care environment.

Monitor clinical governance, quality assurance, and risk management processes.

Support audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives.

Act as Person in Charge (PIC) in the absence of the PIC.

Build positive relationships with residents, families, and the multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

Registered General Nurse with an active NMBI PIN.

Significant nursing experience with proven leadership or management experience.

Strong leadership, organisational, clinical, and decision-making skills.

Sound knowledge of HIQA standards and Irish healthcare regulations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Passion for delivering outstanding, person-centred care to older people.

Ability to motivate teams and foster a positive, supportive working culture.
