We have an exciting opportunity for a Locum Psychologist to play an integral role in a committed multi-disciplinary team.
Job Type: Full-time/Permanent
Contract Type: 1-year fixed-term contract
Hours of Work: 37 hours per week
Responsibilities
Deliver basic psychoeducation sessions, including anxiety management, stress reduction, emotional regulation, and behavioural support.
Coordinate and co-facilitate group psychological therapy programmes for diverse clinical populations.
Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of psychological interventions and therapy sessions.
Conduct psychological assessments using psychometric tools, structured observations, rating scales, and patient interviews.
Maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback to the Psychology Department on programme outcomes.
Support research, clinical audits, service evaluations, and the preparation of reports and data analysis.
Contribute to the development of educational resources, presentations, publications, and evidence-based practice.
Promote psychological services by providing information and engaging with patients, staff, and other stakeholders.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, particularly nursing staff, to deliver person-centred psychological care.
Participate in regular clinical supervision and maintain psychological service resources, assessment materials, and training equipment.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology (or equivalent) with eligibility for Graduate Membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
Previous experience supporting clinical populations, particularly individuals with severe mental health or neurodegenerative conditions, is desirable.
Experience in psychological research, psychometric assessments, report writing, and multidisciplinary team (MDT) settings is an advantage.
Strong organisational, administrative, and time management skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively under clinical supervision while demonstrating professionalism and self-reflection.
Enthusiasm to develop a career in psychology, with a commitment to continuous learning and pursuing further professional training.
