The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and guest-focused Assistant Restaurant Manager to join the team at Jaspers Restaurant.

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the restaurant, supporting the team to deliver a warm, professional and memorable experience for every guest. You will lead by example, support and develop our team, and ensure our service and operational standards are consistently maintained.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being on the floor, working with people and creating a positive atmosphere while ensuring the restaurant operates smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Restaurant Manager with the day-to-day operation of Jaspers Restaurant, ensuring a high standard of food, beverage and guest service


• Manage and oversee all restaurant reservations, ensuring accurate booking records and optimal table allocation. Respond promptly to reservation enquiries via phone, email, and online booking platforms.


• Lead and motivate the team during service, creating a positive and supportive working environment.


• Ensure guests receive a warm welcome and consistently excellent service throughout their visit.


• Act as a point of contact for guests, dealing confidently and professionally with queries, feedback and any issues that arise.


• Assist with team scheduling, briefings and daily allocation of duties to ensure the restaurant is appropriately staffed and prepared for service.


• Support the Restaurant Manager with the training, coaching and development of team members, helping colleagues build their skills and confidence.


• Ensure all team members understand and follow departmental SOPs, service standards, food safety and health & safety procedures.


• Carry out regular floor checks to ensure standards of service, presentation, cleanliness and guest care are maintained.


• Assist with stock control, ordering and monitoring of food and beverage requirements.


• Support the Restaurant Manager in achieving departmental targets and controlling costs, including labour, waste and stock.


• Ensure the restaurant is correctly set up before service and that all closing procedures are completed to the required standard.


• Work closely with the Kitchen and other Food & Beverage departments to ensure smooth communication and service.


• Assist with the organisation and delivery of special events, functions and busy service periods.


• Support the Restaurant Manager in implementing new ideas and continuously improving the guest and team experience.


• Lead by example in always demonstrating Crown Quarters values and standards.


• Deputise for the Restaurant Manager when required, ensuring continuity of leadership and service standards.

• Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel or hospitality supervisory/management role.

• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to remain calm and focused during busy periods.


• A good understanding of food, beverage and restaurant service.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and busy periods as required.
