Job Description - Assistant Store Manager Portwest

Portwest Retail is a leading Ireland owned retail chain with 4 stores on the Wild Atlantic Way, in Westport, Galway and Killarney.



We are an outdoor adventure focused retailer who work with over 50 of some of the best outdoor brands on the market, our team are motivated by personal passions where you will be helping our community gear up for the next peak, trek or trail. You will lead a team of fellow enthusiasts to deliver expert advice, to ensure the customer leaves well equipped and has their needs covered.



We are currently looking to recruit for the role of Assistant Store Manager, in our recently renovated Galway City store. As our Assistant Manager you are the right hand to the Store Manager and a leader on the floor. You’ll help inspire a team of 10+ to deliver exceptional customer moments whilst heling drive the store performance to new heights.



Full training will be provided for the role

The role will involve the following:


 



  • Promoting excellent customer experience in the store

  • Coaching and developing a team to become true product specialists in the product ranged

  • Managing inventory levels

  • Conducting stock audits

  • Reporting analysis to help support commercial decision making

  • Cost control and efficient management of resources

  • Strong Visual Merchandising through story telling displays


 


 


The ideal candidate would offer the below experience:


 



  • A minimum of 1 year’s retail management experience

  • A keen interest in outdoor activities and a good knowledge base of the range

  • Strong understanding of customer service and experience

  • Ability to work on own initiative and deliver results through strong leadership

  • Experience in stock management and Epos till systems

  • Merchandising skills
