At Lilly, we unite caring with discovery to make life better for people around the world. We are a global healthcare leader headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our employees around the world work to discover and bring life-changing medicines to those who need them, improve the understanding and management of disease, and give back to our communities through philanthropy and volunteerism. We give our best effort to our work, and we put people first. We’re looking for people who are determined to make life better for people around the world.
At Lilly, we serve an extraordinary purpose. We make a difference for people around the globe by discovering, developing, and delivering medicines that help them live longer, healthier, more active lives. We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative, and independent leader to join our Ethics & Compliance team. This is a truly exciting time to join Lilly, and our work on the Anti-Corruption team delivers meaningful impact across the world to Lilly and the patients we serve.
The Associate Director is the operational lead for Lilly’s Anti-Corruption Due Diligence (ACDD) programme. You will lead end-to-end ACDD operations, drive the execution of programme transformation initiatives, and serve as a key subject matter resource on ABAC due diligence within the Ethics & Compliance function.
We are looking for someone who brings energy, ideas, and a genuine desire to make things better. This role sits at the heart of a programme that is evolving — from how we use technology and data, to how we assess risk and engage with the business. You thrive in environments where things are being built, not just maintained. You see opportunities where others see obstacles, and you act on them. You challenge the status quo constructively, proactively recommend practical solutions, and want to help build a programme that is recognised globally as best-in-class.
The role requires depth and breadth of expertise in anti-corruption due diligence, with decisions that impact the function’s ability to demonstrate active management under DOJ Evaluation of Corporate Compliance Programs (ECCP) standards, the FCPA, the UK Bribery Act, the EU Anti-Corruption Directive, the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention, and applicable local laws globally.
2. ABAC assessments: Lead global ABAC assessments of third parties annually, develop data-driven candidate selection process, formulate findings into executive reports, create metrics and provide actionable insights to drive ABAC programme enhancements.
Innovation & drive: We are looking for someone with genuine curiosity about how things can be done better as business needs and external expectations evolve. You see emerging technology, data, and AI as tools to solve real problems. You bring ideas forward, test them, and iterate. You are energised by building and improving, not just maintaining.
Leadership & influence: You lead through credibility, not authority. You set the tone for your team through your own standards, communicate clearly and constructively, and build trust with stakeholders across functions and geographies. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and making risk-based decisions with confidence.
Analytical rigour: You have a proven ability to analyse complex data, draw relevant risk-based conclusions, and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. You are comfortable working with data analytics, programme metrics, and technology-enabled compliance tools. You have demonstrated experience with advising on requirements for systems and utilizing compliance analytics dashboards and reports. You are comfortable working in Excel or Power BI to prepare data driven insights to the business. Ideally, you also have ability to analyse and interpret financial data and transactions.
Collaboration & communication: You have exceptional attention to detail and interpersonal skills that enable you to partner effectively across cultures and geographies, influence without authority, and communicate with precision at all levels — from operational teams to executive leadership. You prepare materials that are clear, concise, and ready for senior audiences.
Technology & AI aptitude: You have experience with anti-corruption due diligence platforms and are comfortable adopting new technology. You have experience with, or a demonstrable aptitude for, AI-assisted compliance tools and understand the importance of human oversight in technology-enabled processes.
Resilience & professionalism: You work with a sense of urgency and are willing to go above and beyond to meet urgent business needs and deadlines as they arise. You bring learning agility, adaptability in an evolving regulatory environment, and the professional maturity to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Integrity: You have a strong reputation for sound, risk-based judgement, a willingness to speak up and lead all in alignment with Team Lilly values.
