Job Description - Audit & Assurance Senior

About My Client:

A prestigious Big 4 firm, renowned for providing best in class audit, assurance, consulting, and risk management services. You team will focus on Wealth & Asset Management, Fund Services, Capital Markets and other Financial Services firms.

About the role:

My client are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Audit Senior or Assistant Manager to join their growing Assurance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality audit and assurance services, with a strong focus on controls and risk management. You will work closely with a variety of clients, providing valuable insights and helping them navigate complex regulatory landscapes. The role will not have a heavy focus on the Audit of Financial Reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and executing audit engagements across a diverse portfolio of financial services clients.
  • Conducting thorough risk assessments and implementing effective controls testing.
  • Evaluating and improving clients’ internal control systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Performing Assurance and Operational Risk reviews, utilising consulting experience to provide comprehensive solutions.
  • Managing and mentoring junior audit staff, fostering their professional development.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Preparing detailed audit reports, presenting findings, and offering actionable recommendations.
  • Staying abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in audit and risk management.

About you:

  • Recently qualified ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification is preferred and any certifications in Operational Risk would be a distinct advantage
  • Proven experience in an audit role, ideally within a Big 4 or similar environment.
  • Demonstrable expertise in assurance, controls, and risk management, with a solid understanding of RCSAs.
  • Prior consulting experience in Assurance/Operational Risk reviews is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of financial services, particularly within wealth management, asset management, and investment funds.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in audit software and MS Office suite.
