Job Description - Basic Grade Medical Scientist Microbiology

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care.

We are currently seeking a skilled Basic Grade Medical Scientist-Microbiology to lead hospitals in Tralee.

Responsibilities

Advice applies and carries out operating procedures by "best practice" standards to maximize resource utilization.

Assist in the creation, upkeep, and enforcement of protocols for every section of the lab and the testing apparatus that goes with it.

Assist medical and scientific personnel in assessing medications, tools, consumables, and research initiatives.

Following hospital rules, and collaborating on innovative concepts and technology with the appropriate staff.

Being a committed, professional, and on-time team member in the lab, with good communication

Requirements

An Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM)-validated biomedical science degree or an equivalent credential is required.

Enrollment in the board-maintained Medical Scientists Register at CORU is crucial.

Proof of ongoing professional development.

In an acute hospital laboratory, clinical expertise as a medical scientist in microbiology is crucial.

A solid grasp of Joint Commission International and prior INAB accreditation in accordance with ISO 15189 standards are preferred.

In our diverse department, flexibility and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential.

It is crucial to have excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Excellent planning, organizing, and time management abilities.

High ability to take initiative and be responsible.

IT expertise is necessary.
