## \nCompany:\n\nQT Technologies Ireland Limited\n\n## Job Area:\n\nEngineering Group, Engineering Group \u003e ASICS Engineering\n\nGeneral Summary:\n\nAbout the Role:\n\nJoin Qualcomm\u2019s Global CAD organization and help shape the RTL\u2011to\u2011GDSII reference flows that power our next\u2011generation SoCs. \n\nIn this highly visible role, you\u2019ll build and deploy advanced Physical Design methodologies and automation that improve PPA (Power, Performance, Area), quality, and design turnaround time across leading\u2011edge technology nodes (sub\u20113nm).\n\nYou\u2019ll collaborate with PD, IP, DTCO, and EDA partners worldwide, operating at the intersection of technology enablement, flow innovation, and production execution with a strong culture of learning and cross\u2011site collaboration.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n- Lead technology enablement and develop scalable reference flows for advanced process nodes (sub\u20114nm), addressing deep sub\u2011micron design challenges.\n\n- Collaborate closely with EDA vendors to deliver production\u2011ready toolchains and drive continuous improvements in PPA across multiple design blocks.\n\n- Partner with core and SoC design teams to define and implement solutions for advanced multi\u2011die architectures and next\u2011generation technology nodes.\n\n- Validate end\u2011to\u2011end physical design solutions across synthesis, place\u2011and\u2011route, timing sign\u2011off, and physical verification.\n\n- Work cross\u2011functionally with EDA vendors, physical design, and IP teams to diagnose and resolve issues related to technology enablement and PD execution.\n\n*Please note this role will require 5 days per week onsite in our Cork office*\n\nWhat We\u2019re Looking For:\n\n- Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Master\u2019s degree preferred). \n\n- Strong foundation in CMOS circuit design and core VLSI concepts. \n\n- Minimum of 3 years of hands on experience in Physical Design, including: \n\no Floorplanning expertise for advanced technology nodes (4nm and below).\n\no Proven Place \u0026 Route experience using Synopsys Fusion Compiler and/or Cadence Innovus.\n\no In depth knowledge of placement optimization, clock tree synthesis (skew balancing), congestion mitigation, and legalization.\n\no Experience with DRC debugging and sign off physical verification using Calibre.\n\no Solid understanding of technology LEFs, standard cell libraries, and advanced node DRC rule decks.\n\no Demonstrated ability to deliver PPA critical designs and make informed architectural and implementation trade offs.\n\no Timing closure experience using PrimeTime and/or Tempus, along with IR analysis and GDS generation.\n\n- Strong scripting capabilities (Perl, Tcl, Python) and proficiency in Linux/Unix environments. \n\n- Excellent analytical thinking, debugging, and problem solving skills. \n\n- Proven experience working effectively in large, cross functional teams while meeting aggressive project milestones.\n\nWhy Join Us?\n\n- Work on cutting\u2011edge technologies that power next\u2011generation products at scale.\n\n- Join a high\u2011performing, global team that values technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration.\n\n- Grow your career through continuous learning and meaningful impact in a fast\u2011paced, dynamic environment.\n\nLocation: Cork, Ireland\n\nCork is Ireland\u2019s second-largest economic hub and one of Europe\u2019s Top 20 business locations, hosting over 170 international companies and employing 39,000 professionals. \n\nWith excellent quality of life, cultural diversity, and connectivity to nearly 50 international destinations, Cork offers an ideal setting for work and life.\n\nAbout Us:\n\nQualcomm Cork, a greenfield site based in the beautiful harbour city of Cork opened its doors in August 2013 and has been growing ever since across our QCT Engineering, OneIT and HR teams.\n\nThe Cork QCT engineering team is continuing to expand.
