This is a field‑based role with a high degree of ownership, supported by the wider UKI Life Sciences service organisation, Service Coordinators, Sales teams, and direct access to Getinge’s global technical expertise.

Your role combines hands‑on engineering, technical problem‑solving, and customer partnership:
Carry out planned maintenance, servicing, and breakdown repair of Getinge equipment on customer sites
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues using a structured, logical approach
Support upgrade campaigns and take part in project integrations from planning through completion
Deliver on‑site equipment training and routine maintenance training for customers when required
Provide detailed technical reports for specific product or customer‑related issues
Contribute to troubleshooting guides, technical improvements, and upgrade initiatives
Support Sales by identifying upsell and cross‑sell opportunities across capital equipment and consumables
Conduct on‑site evaluations and reports for prospective customer opportunities

Accurately record time, parts, and service activity using Getinge service systems (including Salesforce)
Manage vehicle spares, stock control, NCRs, and tool calibration in line with KPIs
Ensure all work is completed safely, professionally, and in full compliance with Getinge QMS and customer H&S standards
You’ll also work closely with Service Coordinators to ensure responsive customer coverage and consistently high service standards.
About you
You’re a practical, self‑motivated engineer who enjoys autonomy but values being part of a strong regional and UKI service team.
You’ll bring:
A City & Guilds Level 1 & 2 qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Experience in a maintenance or service engineering environment, ideally within medical, pharmaceutical, or process industries
Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting skills
Confidence working directly with customers in regulated environments
The ability to manage a changing workload and prioritise effectively
Good IT skills, including Microsoft tools and service platforms such as Salesforce
Desirable (but not essential):
CSCS (Service & Facilities / HVACR) Skills Card
HTM 2030 or HTM 2010 certification
Experience with Life Sciences, Bioprocessing, or Sterilisation equipment
Travel & flexibility
Field based across Southern Ireland with daily regional travel required
Occasional overnight stays may be required
UK, Ireland, or overseas travel may be required for planned shutdowns, factory training, or capital equipment support
Development & progression
We take development seriously. Through our Engineer Career Progression Pathway, your skills are assessed and as your capability grows, so does your reward.
Training is delivered by our in-house technical specialists, with access to global expertise and manufacturing support.
