Job Description - Clinical Facilitator -Medical/Surgical Inpatient Ward




RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care.







We are hiring Clinical Facilitator - Medical/Surgical Inpatient Ward into a Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. 







Location: On-site – Dublin, Ireland

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time


 Key Responsibilities




  • Support the hospital’s mission by delivering high-quality patient care with compassion, respect, and professionalism at all times.



  • Enhance nursing and healthcare assistant practices through continuous assessment, education, training, and professional development initiatives.



  • Coordinate and manage orientation, induction, and Clinical Adaptation Programmes to ensure staff achieve required competencies within the NMBI framework.



  • Provide direct clinical supervision, guidance, and mentorship to nurses, healthcare assistants, preceptors, and adaptation candidates in the clinical setting.



  • Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based clinical practices, policies, protocols, and quality improvement projects to maintain high standards of care.



  • Organize and facilitate ongoing in-service education, mandatory training, competency assessments, and professional development programmes for staff.



  • Collaborate effectively with ward managers, clinical coordinators, multidisciplinary teams, and education departments to support staff learning and patient safety.



  • Maintain accurate documentation, uphold confidentiality, and ensure compliance with hospital policies, NMBI guidelines, health and safety regulations, and accreditation standards.



  • Demonstrate leadership and effective communication skills by fostering teamwork, motivating staff, and promoting a culture of diversity, respect, and continuous learning.



  • Participate in audits, evaluations, and performance reviews to improve clinical practice, staff competency, service quality, and overall patient outcomes.







Requirements




  • Must be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).



  • Hold a postgraduate qualification or equivalent education relevant to the specialty area; a Master’s degree in Clinical Practice or a related field is desirable.



  • Possess a minimum of five years’ acute clinical experience with the ability to effectively manage the clinical, administrative, and leadership responsibilities of the role.



  • Demonstrate experience in teaching, mentoring, and assessing nursing and healthcare assistant staff within a clinical environment.



  • Have experience in conducting clinical audits and supporting quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and professional standards.



  • Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster an environment of trust, collaboration, and open communication across multidisciplinary teams.



  • Show commitment to continuous professional development by encouraging lifelong learning, staff education, and partnerships with educational institutions.



  • Possess excellent leadership, coaching, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities relevant to clinical practice and staff development.



  • Demonstrate sound theoretical and clinical knowledge, along with a clear understanding of healthcare services, nursing education, and practice development.



  • Maintain high professional and ethical standards while showing commitment to quality service delivery, self-development, and the advancement of IT skills relevant to the role.
