Provide clinical and managerial leadership within the Urgent Cardiac Care Service, ensuring safe, effective and high-quality patient care.
Coordinate the day-to-day clinical activities and nursing resources within the service to ensure efficient delivery of care.
Lead and support the nursing team in maintaining contemporary nursing practice, professional standards and evidence-based patient care.
Promote a culture of open communication, teamwork and continuous improvement within the multidisciplinary team.
Monitor and maintain high standards of patient safety and quality, identifying opportunities for service improvement and implementing appropriate actions.
Support the education, development and clinical supervision of nursing staff, including preceptorship and ongoing professional development.
Collaborate effectively with cardiology consultants, nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and patient-centred care.
Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Have a minimum of 3 years’ post-graduate experience in acute care nursing.
Have proven experience in a Cardiology ward or Urgent Cardiac Care setting.
Hold a postgraduate qualification in Cardiology, which is desirable.
Hold ACLS certification or demonstrate willingness to undertake the qualification.
Demonstrate excellent knowledge of contemporary nursing practice, with strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Have strong IT skills, with preceptorship qualification and experience considered advantageous.
