Ensure home policies and best clinical standards are consistently implemented across all areas of practice.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary staff to monitor standards, identify areas of concern, and implement action plans in conjunction with the Director of Nursing (DON).
Review and manage residents with pressure ulcers, falls, or acute clinical concerns, ensuring appropriate assessment, documentation, and care plans are in place.
Perform comprehensive resident assessments, monitor ongoing care needs, and update care plans accordingly.
Oversee medication management, including supervision of administration, stock control, audits, and liaison with GPs and pharmacies.
Provide clinical leadership and supervision to Staff Nurses and Care Assistants, maintaining a visible, supportive presence on the floor.
Support staff training, development, and performance appraisal, identifying training needs and delivering in\-house education programmes with the DON.
Lead and participate in clinical, medication, hygiene, health & safety, and documentation audits, ensuring action plans are implemented and sustained.
Act as a key point of contact for residents and relatives, promoting person\-centred care and ensuring complaints are addressed promptly and effectively.
Support the management of daily operations, including rosters, handovers, resident reviews, and covering DON duties as required, while ensuring compliance with health and safety policies.
BSc in General Nursing or an equivalent qualification
Registered on the NMBI live register
Previous managerial training and/or experience is an advantage
Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
Strong decision\-making and problem\-solving ability
Ability to work independently, motivate self and others
Proven ability to work effectively within and promote a team\-based environment
