  Oversee the implementation and maintenance of Joint Commission International (JCI) infection prevention and control standards
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Coordinate Infection Prevention & Control Committee meetings and contribute to relevant Quality & Patient Safety Committee activities
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Manage infection control records, policies, protocols and guidelines in line with hospital requirements and best practice
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Lead the surveillance, monitoring, investigation, prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections in collaboration with the Consultant Microbiologist
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Advise Nursing Management and Bed Management on the management and placement of patients with infectious conditions
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Support clinical audit, research, quality improvement initiatives and the development of performance metrics for infection prevention and control
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure incidents involving patients and staff are appropriately reported, investigated and documented in accordance with legal and organisational requirements
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Support hospital accreditation and quality management processes, including JCI and HIQA, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and best practice
  
  
  
  
  

  
  

Requirements

• 
  

  Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current professional registration
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Minimum of 7 years’ post-registration nursing experience, including at least 1 year of Infection Prevention & Control experience
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Relevant management experience and/or a recognised management qualification
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Strong leadership, accountability, interpersonal and communication skills
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development at the appropriate level
