CNC Punch Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate punch press machines and associated equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and production specifications.
• Select and install the correct punches, dies, and tooling.
• Ensure materials are correctly positioned and processed according to specifications.
• Inspect finished components to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.
• Carry out routine machine checks and basic preventative maintenance.
• Identify and report machine faults, tooling damage, and quality issues.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Ensure work areas and machinery are kept clean and organised.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and machine guarding.
• Meet daily production targets while minimising waste and downtime.
• Work closely with colleagues, supervisors, and the quality control team.

• Previous experience operating punch press machinery or similar manufacturing equipment is desirable.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and metal fabrication is an advantage.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow work instructions.
• Basic measurement skills using tools such as callipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
