Reporting To: Head Chef / Sous Chef

Department: Kitchen

Location: Riverside Park Hotel & Leisure Club, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford

Job Purpose:

To assist chefs in preparing, producing, and serving food to the highest standard and in accordance with food hygiene regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare and produce food for the section to which you are assigned to the agreed standards, working in conjunction with other chefs.


• Maintain a full understanding and working knowledge of HACCP and COSHH requirements.


• Be familiar with all menus.


• Be fully mobile in all areas of the kitchen and work on the section assigned each day.


• Ensure all mise en place is ready prior to service.


• Uphold hygiene standards and maintain high standards of food preparation, cooking, and presentation.


• Report any equipment faults, fixture issues, or fittings to a chef or supervisor, and ensure equipment is not misused.


• Complete cleaning tasks as outlined in cleaning checklists.


• Assist with stock taking and ordering when requested.


• Follow the FIFO (First In, First Out) method for food rotation.


• Adhere to the ‘Clean as you go’ policy and ensure all work areas and fridges are kept tidy. Have a supervisor check your section before finishing your shift.


• Always wear a clean uniform and appropriate protective clothing.


• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.


• Participate actively in any training aimed at improving standards and performance.


• Attend meetings as required.


• Keep work areas tidy and safe and promptly report any hazards, accidents, losses, or damages to management.
