Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience by ensuring every customer is welcomed promptly and professionally.
- Build strong customer relationships through excellent product knowledge and personalised service.
- Maximise sales through effective selling techniques, link selling and add-on sales.
- Promote loyalty programme membership and encourage customer participation.
- Handle customer queries, complaints, exchanges and refunds professionally while turning opportunities into additional sales.
- Support gift wrapping services and maintain excellent customer engagement throughout the shopping journey.
Commercial & Operational Excellence
- Support the Store Manager in achieving and exceeding all store KPIs including Sales, ATV, Conversion, IPT, Margin, Stock Loss and Mystery Shop results.
- Monitor weekly sales performance and assist in implementing action plans to maximise results.
- Maintain high merchandising and visual presentation standards throughout the store.
- Support effective stock management, replenishment and space planning.
- Ensure deliveries, stock control and stockroom procedures are completed accurately.
- Work closely with Marketing, Buying and Warehouse teams to improve overall store performance.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, health & safety and security standards.
Leadership & Team Development
- Support the Store Manager in the daily operation of the business and lead the store in their absence.
- Motivate, coach and develop team members to deliver outstanding performance.
- Communicate business updates, store objectives and operational priorities effectively.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, probation reviews and performance management.
- Lead training initiatives, including internal development programmes.
- Foster a positive, collaborative and customer-focused team culture.
Store Standards
- Maintain exceptional store presentation, cleanliness and merchandising standards.
- Ensure products are correctly priced, barcoded and replenished.
- Monitor promotional displays and ensure pricing accuracy.
- Maintain company uniform standards across the team.
- Promote a safe working environment for colleagues and customers.
Suitable candidates will have:
Previous experience as an Assistant Store Manager, Deputy Store Manager, Department Manager, Retail Supervisor or Senior Sales Advisor within fashion, luxury retail, homeware, lifestyle, department stores or other customer-focused retail environments.
Candidates should demonstrate a passion for retail leadership, customer service excellence and commercial success, with the confidence to lead a team and deputise for the Store Manager when required.
