ABOUT US


Co-operative Housing Ireland (CHI) is the national organisation representing, promoting and developing co-operative housing in Ireland. Since our foundation in 1973 we have provided over 5,700 homes through homeownership, shared ownership and social rented co-operatives. As an Approved Housing Body (AHB), we work with various stakeholders in the housing sector, including Local Authorities, Government, aspiring homeowners, tenants and developers. We currently manage over 6,708 properties across Ireland.



ROLE OVERVIEW


CHI is seeking a full time “Development Officer” to join our New Business Development division. The Development Officer will work 35 hours work per week, Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 and report to the Development Officer, Team Leader. The Development Officer will have an administrative base located at The Generali Building (The Liberty Building), Blanchardstown Retail Park, Dublin 15, D15 YT2H.


 


The Development Officer will actively contribute to CHI’s development projects (existing and new), from sourcing new housing opportunities to the actual delivery of homes for new members. The Development Officer will conduct feasibility analyses, monitor CHI’s development performance, prepare reports for key stakeholders and play a key role in maintaining CHI’s commitment to Ireland’s housing needs.



WHAT YOU WILL DO



  • Provide administrative support to CHI’s National Operations Manager and Director of New Business Development on current/future development projects.

  • Work with CHI’s Legal and Finance teams to prepare and track funding applications.

  • Co-ordinate and collate all documentation required for Funding applications.

  • Organise valuations and surveys as required.

  • Complete loan applications to the Housing Finance Agency and other lending institutions.

  • Manage all project and pipeline folders, including maintaining Pamwin software system.

  • Prepare summary reports on potential/new development projects for relevant internal stakeholders.

  • Liaise with all internal departments within CHI, including Finance, Policy & Communications, Housing Services & Community Engagement etc. on any issues that may arise in relation to project progress.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with a variety of external stakeholders, including lenders, local authorities, the Housing Agency, etc.


 


These duties are a general guide to the responsibilities of the Development Officer. They are neither definitive nor restrictive. The post-holder may be required to undertake other duties as directed.


 


 


WHAT YOU WILL BRING



Essential Requirements:



  • Track record of achievement in a similar role.

  • Third-level qualification in a related area (property, housing management, business or similar) is desirable.

  • Knowledge of Approved Housing Bodies and/or the charity sector is desirable.

  • Strong communicator – verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and experience.

  • Outstanding I.T. skills, particularly MS Office suite.

  • Impeccable attention to detail.

  • Well organised and capable of multitasking.

  • Full driving licence and access to own car is desirable.

  • Permission to work in Ireland.
