About the IRC

Ireland Research Center mission is to position Huawei as a recognized technology leader and a global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) solutions. To achieve this, we are building an industry-recognized multi-discipline Research Centre of experts with focus on medium-term to long-term issues. The IRC will work closely with an open innovative ecosystem with Huawei customers to address real-world issues. The IRC will also engage with key European universities to build a basic research capability to support Huawei technical projects.

About The Role

Huawei, the leading Telecommunications and IT solution provider, has its European Research and Development centre for Autonomous Networks in Dublin. Led by Huawei’s Autonomous Driving Networks vision, our Ireland Intelligent Operation & Management (IO&M) Lab is leading pioneering R&D in advanced software architectures & systems that underpin the transformation from Operator Driven to Autonomous Networks and plays a pivotal role in the future networking products and solution for Huawei’s customers.

We are looking for top experts in network automation operation and maintenance to lead our team. The team has rich network knowledge, strong insight into ICT industry and industry-leading solutions, and is familiar with network automation / network AI solutions. The team is applying a combination of advanced software techniques/architectures and deep domain expertise to transform the network to become agile, programmable, on-demand and autonomous. The successful candidate will be working with our highly talented team to unlock the potential of the network and make a major break-through in the network revolution.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to define the roadmap of business targets, bridge the gap between research achievements and industrial products.


• Analyze competition, including but not limited to Automatic closed-loop technology based on intent network and model-driven technology based on AI, and guide Huawei's technological innovation and research direction to build the core competitiveness of Ireland IO&M Lab.


• Be responsible for research projects within the Autonomous Network portfolio, completing core technology construction in the corresponding scope.


• Build cooperation with European universities, research institutes and industrial partners.


• Represent Huawei within the broader industry, attending and participating at international meetings and conferences.

Desired Experience

• In-depth research experience in network automatic driving field, especially as a leading researcher in renown companies/ universities.


• Extensive professional network knowledge and connections in data communication network field.


• Strategic and flexible thinking, strong communication, networking, collaboration and interpersonal skills.

Desired Skills

Familiar with the following technologies being researched by ADN laboratory:

• Network modelling and Model driven technologies.


• ADN, NFV, network orchestration and automation, intent Driven Network.


• Algorithms of AI/LLM in network domain (OSS layer and Network service layer) to solve problems of specified scenarios.


• Domain knowledge of Data communication network, Cloud, Campus/Data Center networking.


• Strong technical foresight and staying up-to-date, capable of quickly following and digesting new industry-leading technologies to drive the company’s technological advancements.


• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to align teams around a shared vision for autonomous driving network) , while also influencing senior leaders to prioritize reliability in business and operational decision-making.

Location

This is a full-time position at our research centre based in Dublin, Ireland. Business trips may be required as necessary to support strategy engagements.
